Zoey is the Pet of the Week

The Animal Shelter continued their mission to find homeless pets families the week of Aug. 14.

Zoey is a Burmese Mountain dog with a taste for fun and the outdoors. Rescue Coordinator Charity Stevens said Zoey will make a great companion.

“She weighs about 77 pounds, so she’s a big girl, but she loves people like I said, I can’t say enough,” said Stevens. “She still likes to play even though she’s seven, almost eight. ”

The adoption fee for Zoey is just 90 dollars plus tax, thanks to her sponsorship. Her age has made it difficult to find a home, leaving her at the shelter since early May. Stevens said it’s given the staff a chance to really get to know her.

“My favorite thing about her is her spunk,” said Stevens. “She still has a lot of spunk for being a senior.”

The Animal Shelter will also be hosting an adoption event at Family Video in South Zanesville Aug. 15.
