Water Makes the Difference at the Fair
The fair comes just in time for the temperature to rise to scorching highs… and there’s one sure way to stay healthy in the heat.
With the high temperatures you will sweat more, leaving your body drained of essential fluids. Drinking 6 to 8 glasses of water can mean the difference between a fun day at the fair and dizziness, confusion, and heat exhaustion. Chris Farmer of Genesis Community Ambulance said they’ve seen the negative affects of dehydration already this week.
“So far, this is the second day of the fair, and we’ve had probably three or four dehydrated patients already," said Farmer. "We’ve been giving them liquids, giving them water, cooling them down and we’ve sent one to the hospital for dehydration.”
While drinking water is important you should also take the time to eat, rest and find a cool area to take breaks from the sun.
