New Additions Bring Interactive Fun to Collegial Woods Trail
ZANESVILLE, OH–If you’re looking for a new way to enjoy the outdoors, upgrades to Collegial Woods Trail are adding both fun and education to the experience.
The trail now features brand-new signage, but the biggest change is an interactive twist. QR codes placed along the path allow visitors to scan and discover fun facts about Ohio’s state bird, state rock song, and more bringing a new learning experience to every step of the journey.
“We’ve made some great improvements, including updated signage and new educational kiosks. One of the more exciting additions is a seek-and-find challenge that shares interesting facts about the trail and its history,” said Russell Edgington executive director of The Muskingum Valley Park District.
The trail is a popular destination for hiking, community events, and 5K races. To keep it clean and safe for everyone, park officials are reminding visitors to pick up after their pets and follow leash laws.
“We hear a lot of concerns about dogs being off leash. While we love welcoming pets at our park district facilities, it’s important that they remain on a leash as required by Ohio law,” Edgington said.
With a new additions, Collegial Woods Trail is offering a fresh way to connect with nature—one QR code at a time.
