More Tickets Available For Gym Dedication

The Muskingum Recreation Center is setting the stage for the Fred Taylor Memorial Gym Dedication.

The event will begin Thursday, August 27 at 5:00 p.m. and will feature NBA legends Jerry Lucas, John Havlicek, Bill Hosket, Joe Roberts and Mel Nowell. Bob Knight will also be present via video. The event sold out, but a limited number of tickets have been made available. Executive Director of the Muskingum Recreation Center, Beth Chapman told us more about the good news.

“As we were setting up for the event, we were able to fit more tables into the gymnasium.” Explained Chapman, “So we do have a limited number of additional tickets if people want to call before noon on Thursday to the Rec Center.”

The cost of a ticket is one hundred and fifty dollars which includes a social hour, dinner and a program with their special guests. You can also purchase any extra tickets at the door, but Chapman said it is not a guarantee that there will still be some left. Dress attire for the event is business casual. Chapman shared that it is going to be an exciting event.

“Fred Taylor was just a legendary coach who had a unique style with his players and as you can see by the lineup of the folks that we have speaking at the event.” Said Chapman, “He was a very well respected coach. So we’re excited to be able to honor Fred with the naming of the gymnasium.”
