ACT Test Prep Classes Still Open for Registration

The October 24th act test is quickly approaching and the Muskingum County Community Foundation is partnering with Scholarship Central to help students prepare a little better.

The October ACT prep class is filling fast but a second class has been added where spots are still available. In order to register, parents and students can go to their website to fill out a form or they can come to the Community Foundation but in order to secure their spot they must have the 20 dollar refundable deposit (cash or check) at the time of registration.

“In order for them to receive the deposit back, which we would much rather do that that deposit it…We just need to have the student come to four out of five classes and then submit their act scores to us once they finsih taking the test and then we will give the deposit back.” explains Katie McCarty the Educational Assistant at Scholarship Central.

Classes are held from 5 to 6:30 and from 7 to 8:30. They will begin this Sunday, August 30th and continue on September 20th and 27th as well as October 4th and 18th.

“Dr. Stewart who used to teach at Zanesville High School is the one who teaches the class and he’s amazing. Typically we see a 1.76 point increase, that’s the average that we see from when we have a beginning score and an ending score so we feel like we’re doing pretty good there. The students seem to really love it and seem to get a lot out of it so that’s why we continue to do it.” says McCarty.
The prep class is set up as a typical classroom where students will learn test strategies, take practice tests and can ask plenty of questions so if interested be sure to sign up.
