Norman Kincaid See, of Hopewell, OH, went to be with the Lord in the early morning hours of April 2, 2025, at the age of 81 years and 19 days, after struggling for many years with COPD.
He was born on March 14, 1944, in Floyd, VA, to Robert G., Jr. and Marian (Brock) See. In 1949, the family moved to the Hagerstown, MD, area. From 1962-64, Norman attended Shimer College, a small college in Illinois. When the Vietnam War began warming up, Norman joined the U.S. Army. He learned to speak Mandarin, and spent time in both Korea and Vietnam. He met Sharon L. Marshall, who was also serving in the army, in San Francisco, CA. On September 7, 1969, Norman and Sharon were married. They spent over 55 years together and had seven children.
After finishing his time in the army, Norman and Sharon settled in California. They lived in Santa Rosa from 1973 to 1995. Norman worked at Hewlett-Packard for over seventeen years. In 1995, Norman and his family moved to Zanesville, OH, where he resided until his death. He worked at Genesis Healthcare for eighteen years. Norman enjoyed many different hobbies, such as planting trees at the different places he lived. But what became most important to him was serving the Lord. He was baptized and became a member of the Canaan Mennonite Church on May 29, 2022. The day before his passing, the doctor asked him what was most important to him, and he whispered, “Being faithful.”
He is survived by his wife Sharon (Marshall) See of Hopewell, OH; four sons and three daughters: Karen L. and husband David Hewett of Butler, PA; Katharine M. and husband Willard McCaulou of Garrison, MT; Matthew Gamble and wife Aurora Desirée (Doyle) of Sandpoint, ID; Kimberly R.
