Health Department Surveys Available

ZANESVILLE, Ohio-Â The Zanesville-Muskingum County Health Department wants to hear from you.
The health department is asking Muskingum County residents to complete a questionnaire. The questionnaire asks the survey taker about pertinent issues, comments, or concerns regarding Muskingum County. The health department uses the survey as a guide to address what changes need to be made.
“It’s so important for the community to be involved and to have their voice heard because this is their community,” Kylie Jones said. “So we need to take their ideas. Their opinions. That kind of guides our way. It shows us what we need to do for the next 5 years.”
Jones said the survey addresses education, transportation, schools, safety, and community development. Although the survey is being administrated by the health department it addresses a lot more than just health issues. They’ve received just over 500 completed surveys. They need roughly 200 more for a complete sample.
“The survey is about 60 questions. It takes about 15 minutes to complete. You can complete it online at our website. You can also do a paper survey. We can mail that out to you or you can pick up one here at the health department. Or you can call the health department and we will do the survey with you over the phone,” Kylie Jones said.
To complete the survey, you must be a Muskingum County resident and must be 18 years of age or older. The survey is available online at zmchd.org. Just click on the 2016 community health assessment. The deadline to complete the survey is September 30th.
