Noble County Fair Kicks Off

A southeastern Ohio tradition is kicking off in Caldwell this week.

Thousands are expected to venture out to the Noble County Fairgrounds for animal shows, new rides, and delicious food. One of the fair’s most highly-anticipated events this year is a hypnotist, who President of the Fair Board, J.D. Harper, said always delivers a great performance.

“This year we got our hypnotist who’s coming back, he’ll be on our midway stage in the evenings, he does two shows per night, and he’ll start Wednesday and he’ll be here throughout the fair, and it’s a really good show, we had him two years ago and that place was just packed,” Harper said.

The fair brings with it different events each day, including a great outhouse race, a rodeo, and a truck and tractor pull, before finally capping off with a demolition derby on Saturday. Harper said they are also excited to show off their new poultry and rabbit barn.

“This year between the Fair Board and the sales committee and donations through people in the community and whoever else donated, we were able to build a brand new rabbit and poultry barn, and the barn turned out really great, and everything looks good,” Harper said.

The fair runs through Saturday, with gates opening at 8 a.m. each day. Rides are open Tuesday through Thursday 4-11 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 1-5 p.m. and 6-11 p.m. General admission is just $8 per person.
