Local Labor Day Weekend Activities

The wrap up to summer and final holiday weekend of the season is right around the corner.

With locals and their families in need of things to do to celebrate, we caught up with Kelly Ashby the vice president at the chamber of commerce to find out what Zanesville has to offer this Labor Day weekend.

“It’s the holiday that everyone looks forward to. It’s the last hoorah and there’s just lots of grea things to see and do in the area. So, this weekend certainly you want to get out there and take advantage of a lot of great events and a lot of fun attractions.” she says.

The Wilds and of course the bike trails will be open on Monday but most events are only held on Saturday and Sunday.

“Those would include Heritage Days at the Longaberger Homestead, so that’s on Friday and Saturday both. Also Friday night is First Friday Art Walk, so that’s a great event as well. It’s also Rib Fest at the fairgrounds and there’s also a kickoff event this Sunday at the Dr. Increase Mathew’s house and the Wayfarers are playing there so that would be a great event to go to as well.” Ashby explains.

To check out all of the activities and their hours visit zanesville.om or stop at the Welcome Center to pick up a visitors guide and some brochures.
