Ohio Bands Compete
Ohio bands gathered at Sam Hatfield Saturday to show of their fancy foot work and musical mastery.
Each took their turn on the turf and showed the crowd their program. The audience enjoyed everything from a Hansel and Gretel story to Metallica. Philo Band Boosters President Dennis Schultice says competing is good for the students.
"Well it’s a great experience for them," said Schultice. "They hear new music, meet new friends, and it’s exciting. It’s fun and they really enjoy it. My son is in it and it’s one of the few things that has ‘wowed’ him. "
The competition will hit the final note at after 7 p.m. Saturday. The judges will review and provide criticism to each band and announce those who qualify to go to state.
