Dresden Fall Festival
Sunday was the annual community fall festival in Dresden.
Despite the challenging weather, families came out for a day of fall fun featuring a 5k run benefiting Christ’s Table, followed by a cookout, wagon rides to pick out pumpkins, a pumpkin decorating station, a scavenger hunt, canoe rides and plenty more.
“Our 5k we had 50 runners for that and we’ve noticed that that’s even expanded to the reaches of Columbus and even further north in Ohio so, it’s just not our local residents, our community members, but it’s also residents throughout the whole state that’s starting to come and join us so it was a really good turnout” PR manager for the Shelley Company, Jamie Sturgeon said.
The event began at 7 am with a volunteer fishing tournament before the 9:30 scheduled 5k. It continued until 3 p.m. when the raffle drawing took place. Everyone leaves with something Sturgeon says whether its a decorated pumpkin, door prizes, and for this year, a wildlife survival kit.
“It was really just a great event for the family and we really enjoy the community coming out and getting to meet them and sharing our wildlife site with the community” Sturgeon said.
Those involved in putting the fall festival have already begun talking and planning next year’s event.
