Local Salon Honors Breast Cancer Awareness Month

A local salon and day spa is doing their part to honor breast cancer awareness month.

Employees at ‘One Mane Place’ salon and day spa will be sporting pink attire and even pink wigs to show their support for the entire month of October and even their customers have played a role by giving donations. You can even purchase raffle tickets at the salon to be entered to win a gift certificate and a spa package at One Mane Place.

“We are proud to represent the ‘Strides for Life’ walk. Last year a dear friend of mine was fighting her battle with breast cancer and she’s won and this year we’ve got several of our clients and friends that are going through it as well. So we find that this is just a wonderful way for us to get involved” said store managing cosmetologist/estetician Jill Mahan.

Mahan encourages everyone to do their part and sign up for the Strides for Life 5k this coming weekend. Participants can run, walk, jump, skip…just have fun while supporting a great cause. Salon employees will even be at the event early doing face painting and putting pink extensions in participant’s hair.

“I had never been involved until it affected my dear friend and I just felt like there was nothing I could do and this was something I could do and she really appreciated it” she later told us.

The 5k starts at 10 a.m October 10th at the Ohio University Zanesville campus. If interested you can stop in the salon to register or sign up the morning of.
