Chamber of Commerce Gearing Up for “Festival of Trees”
Those looking for the perfect tree this holiday season, look no further.
The annual “Festival of Trees” event is coming up the first week of December, and the Zanesville-Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce is already asking for entries. Those who enter will craft a Christmas decoration of their choosing to be auctioned off the week of the event. Chamber president, Tom Poorman, said it’s an opportunity for businesses to show off their creative side.
“It’s a lot of fun, it is part of our overall holiday celebration as a community, we do it in conjunction with ‘Miracle on Main Street’ and the lighting at the courthouse,” Poorman said. “The first week of December, we open the festival for a couple of days and people submit entries, organizations, companies, submit entries.”
And it isn’t just trees — those who enter will be able to decide which type of holiday decoration they’d like to donate. From wreaths to stockings, the Zanesville-Muskingum County Welcome Center will be filled with all sorts of holiday cheer on auction day. The chamber also requests adding an incentive to your creation.
“Often there’s an incentive included, it might be an advertising package from WHIZ, it might be something small a gift certificate it might be as product made by a local company, so there’s a wide variety of different types of incentives, sports tickets, toys,” Poorman said.
For businesses interested, the sooner you register, the sooner your business will be promoted on the chamber’s website. Visit zmchamber.com to enter.
