Mid-East Ohio Model Engineering Expo
Hundreds of model enthusiasts are gearing up to show off their unique inventions this Saturday.
Engineers and machinists from all across the country will pack the Muskingum County Fairgrounds for the 8th annual “Mid-East Ohio Model Engineering Expo.” Director, Paul Debolt, said those who come out will get to see and experience first-hand, machined gas, steam, and stirling cycle engines, as well as, a variety of other scientific marvels.
“What you have are miniature engines, guns, just about anything that’s manufactured is made in miniature here, and not only is it miniaturized, but it operates like the real engine, or gun,” Debolt said.
The event begins at 9 a.m. and runs until 6 p.m. Engineers who still need to register and set up must be at the fairgrounds no later than 8 a.m. For those who may not know a lot about model engineering, Debolt said the Expo is a great opportunity to discover the hobby.
“This is a hobby for these guys, a lot of them are retired, some of them are not, we have vendors here who sell components and electronic ignitions, sparks plugs, and all kinds of little parts you use in the hobby,” Debolt said.
Tickets are just $8 at the door and parking is free.
