Rambo Urges Public to Vaccinate for Flu

The season for influenza is approaching, and Rambo Memorial Health Center is urging the public to get vaccinated.

With plenty of flu shots and mist available for a low cost, Nurse Jennifer Richards said protecting yourself from the flu is about your health, as well as your friend’s and family’s.

“It’s so important, not just to protect yourself, but to protect the others around you, so, you may not really need it for yourself but if there’s sick children around you or the elderly that need it, it’s just a really good to get it for others around you also,” said Richards.

While the shot isn’t a difficult process, needles can be intimidating so Rambo recommends mist to small children who don’t want the stick.

“We really like the flu mist for the children that are really afraid of needles,” said Richards. “We do it for 2 through 18 and that will just be the $5 charge. If you want the, we can also do it 18-49 but it is going to be a $25 charge because we do try to save that mist for the children. ”

Rambo Memorial Health Center will be closed for Halloween, but open next saturday which will be their final day of extended hours before returning to 8 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
