Second Annual Reverse Raffle to Benefit Local 4-H

Over 300 people from the local community came out to support the local 4-H group Wednesday evening.

The reverse raffle held at the Muskingum County Fairgrounds will raise funds for 4-H members for the second year and Chairman of the Reverse Raffle Committee Jared Dosch said last year they donated $10,000 which provides a lot to 4-H.

“They use it for insurance, scholarships, awards, any type of trip that may be part of the 4-H program on the state or national level so a lot of different things they can use that money for,” said Dosch.

Mayor Jeff Tilton, County Commissioners, and Sheriff Lutz stopped to show their support. Dosch said the event garners support because many of those in the Reverse Raffle Committee and the local community have been a part of 4-H and see what good it can do.

“The 4-H program has always been a fit from all walks of life whether it’s political, business, agriculture, so it’s really exciting to see the number of people that we have here tonight and all the personalities that have joined us,” said Dosch.

4-H members could not attend the event due to the nature of the fundraiser. All must be 21 and over, but Dosch said the best part will be presenting all the money to the 4-Hers.
