UPDATE: ZPD Investigating Subway Robbery

The Zanesville Police Department is releasing new footage of a suspect who robbed the Subway on North 7th Street Wednesday night.

The man is described as being a 6-foot tall, thin, white male with tattoos on his arms and face, wearing a brown jacket and blue jeans.

Captain Tony Coury said around 5 o’clock Wednesday, the unknown male entered the restaurant and demanded money. He said the clerk did not see a weapon, but there was a threat made. The suspect then fled the scene with an undetermined amount of cash. Coury said he got into a car that was parked in the back of the building and then headed up Elberon Avenue. There was only one employee in the store at the time of robbery, and there were no witnesses.

“We’re interviewing some employees, and people in the area, trying to determine if anyone saw anything last night, right now we have no witnesses, we have no clue, or suspect, and we’re just looking for that white male,” Coury said.

If you recognize this suspect, or have any information regarding the incident, you are asked to call ZPD, at (740) 455-0700.
