Fieldhouse Unveils New Piece of Equipment

 

The Fieldhouse is using a new tool to help people get back on their feet.

The Fieldhouse is bringing a different kind of therapy to Zanesville. The family fitness center recently received a significant donation from AutoZone to purchase a rare piece of equipment. Marketing director, Alainna Durfee said the Hydro-Cycle the only one of it’s kind in Zanesville. The unique piece of aquatic equipment is specifically designed to help those in need of rehabilitative therapy.

“What we’re trying to do for the community, is we want to get people back to work, and from the generosity of AutoZone, and actually Williamson insurance also helped us, AutoZone was able to buy us really about an $8,000 bike at a discounted price, so now we’re able to get people who were injured at work, back into the workforce,” Durfee said.

The Fieldhouse currently provides the only certified water rehabilitative program in Ohio, using this unique piece of under-water equipment. Durfee said there are only two other hydro-cycles in the state.

“This is a about versatility, it’s not about just doing the same machine over and over again, elliptical are great, treadmills are great, but doing it in the water, it’s a totally different workout, you’re working totally different muscles,” Durfee said.
