MCCF Seeking Nominees for Wagner Community Leadership Award
The Muskingum County Community Foundation is currently accepting nominations for the Brian T. Wagner Community Leadership Award.
If you know someone who exemplifies outstanding leadership qualities, the foundation is asking you to nominate them. Vice President of the Muskingum County Community Foundation Council, Lisa Karling, said the coveted award was established in 2005 to honor young volunteer leaders, and encourage others to lead volunteer efforts in the community.
“You can nominate somebody that you know that you feel like has gone above and beyond their civic duty of doing a leadership program, or community service organization that has helped the area, and what their goal is for,” Karling said.
Karling said nominees must show generosity of time and spirit, and live in and volunteer in Muskingum County. The award will be presented during the foundation’s 31st Anniversary Groundhog Day Auction in January. The winner will be honored with a plaque, and the foundation will make a $1,000 donation to a community organization of their choice.
“It just allows us to honor young volunteerism in the community, and basically bring to light some of the people that are behind that scenes, that nobody really knows or hears about,” Karling said.
Nominees must between the ages of 18 and 55. It’s easy to nominate someone, all you have to do is visit the community foundation’s website and fill out the form. You can either deliver your nomination to the foundation on Putnam Avenue, or e-mail it to giving@mccf.org. Nominations are due by December 4.
