Armed Robbery In Shawnee- Suspects At Large

The Perry County Sheriff’s Department is searching for two men after an early morning armed robbery in Shawnee.

Sergeant Adam Newlon says just after 12:00 Thursday morning two suspects, wearing masks and with a gun, entered Whorle’s Carryout at 317 West Main Street and forced a customer and store employee to lie face down on the floor.

The bandits then took an undisclosed amount of money.

Sergeant Newlon says the suspects also confiscated phones located within the carryout. A short time later the victims were able to call 9-1-1.

A K-9 unit from the Hocking County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and assisted deputies with a track of the suspects, but they remain at large. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call the Perry County Sheriff’s Department.
