Coshocton, OH – A new building is going up in Coshocton, and it’s all about shaping brighter futures.

Crossroads Baptist Church, formerly known as Chili Crossroads, is currently constructing a brand-new facility on County Road 621 in Coshocton. The new space will support their mission to help the community through programs like the Ohio Dyslexia Center, which helps hundreds of kids become stronger readers each year.

“Every kid can become a strong reader, and every kid should become a strong reader. The federal government says that 67% of 8th graders are not reading proficiently. That’s a major crisis. Here is Appalachia, I think the numbers are worse. To my knowledge, there’s not another center located within a 45-minute radius of here that helps kids become strong readers. It’s super important that the Ohio Dyslexia Center is here helping kids,” Pastor Neal Dearyan said.

In addition to educational programs, Crossroads offers childcare, summer camps, church services and addiction recovery programs.

“We have the lowest cost childcare in the county, and we have a recovery program. I’m the pastor of the church; my main goal is I want everybody in the whole world to know that Christ died for their sins and rose again,” Pastor Dearyan said.

The new building is expected to be finished in June and will be located at 23247 County Road 621 in Coshocton. For more information, please visit their website.
