Library Card Holders to Receive New Perk

The Southeastern Ohio Symphony Orchestra is bringing a taste of classical music to our area just in time for the holidays.

The symphony will perform a “chamber music” concert at Muskingum University’s Brown Chapel this Sunday. Tickets are just $13 per person, but there is a perk if you’re a Muskingum County library member. Due to a new partnership with the symphony, library card holders will receive free admission.

“The library system is really focused on adding attention to rediscover, learn, and create and this gives people the opportunity to discover music in a way that they may not have experienced previously,” said Executive Director, Blair Tom.

If you don’t already have a library card, all you have to do is stop by one of the six library locations in Muskingum County to register. Tom said this is just one of many exciting opportunities in store for the new partnership.

“We know that we’re going to be continuing to collaborate, and depending on community response and interest, hopefully being able to offer this kind of special opportunity again in the future,” Tom said.

The concert is this Sunday from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Brown Chapel in New Concord.
