Spring Brunch for Winter Coats

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary’s annual Spring Brunch is a warm and generous fundraiser that allows Muskingum County youth to stay warm and comfortable next winter.

The organization’s Publicity Chairperson Sue Bell invited the public to check out how they can benefit by participating in their upcoming charitable gettogether.

“Most people would know the Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary by our signature project, which is ‘Coats for Kids’ in the fall. And over the last 7 or 8 years we’ve given out 4,000 new coats to children in Muskingum County. And it’s completely paid for by our auxiliary. And so our big moneymaker is coming up and it is the Spring Brunch on May 14,” Bell said.

The event will begin at 10 a.m. with a silent auction that contains items such as homemade candies and baked goods donated by group members along with gift cards donated by local businesses. The brunch will begin at 11, which will feature a breakfast casserole, as well as a selection of breakfast meats, fruits and drinks.

“The program will be presented by Mr. George Reynolds and his official title is Muskingum County Deputy Bee Inspector. And the name of our theme this year is ‘Bee-utiful Friendships.’ So we’ll celebrate friendships among people there, but we will also celebrate the connection that bees have to our lives,” Bell said.

Tickets for the Spring Brunch are $20 dollars and reservations must be placed by May 2nd. The event will be held Wednesday, May 14th, at the Zanesville Salvation Army facility, located at 515 Putnam Avenue. Tickets can be puchesed by calling (740) 607-6175.
