Daniel Neville

Dan Neville

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Daniel Neville, ran into the arms of his loving Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, April 21, 2025, at 6:52am.

Dan was born on June 2, 1940, in Columbus, Ohio, the son of Paul E. Neville and Mary L. (Swisher) Neville. He attended Spring Arbor College in Michigan and graduated from Circleville Bible College in 1964.

Dan was a faithful pastor in the Ohio Conference of the Free Methodist Church of North America, where he served from 1961 and retired in 2005 from active ministry. In his retirement he inspired the 161 Club, which encourages us to pray for one another. Dan’s list of prayers included 161 individuals (some known, some strangers) that he faithfully prayed for every day. We hope his devotion to his faith inspires you to pray for others as part of your daily walk with God.

He pastored churches in Athens, Ohio; Youngstown, Ohio (twice); Chicago, Illinois; Zanesville, Ohio; New Middletown, Ohio; and Holland, Ohio. Dan also served the Ohio Conference in leadership positions as Assistant to Superintendent, MEG and MAC Boards, and was elected twice as delegate to the General Conference of the Free Methodist Church. “Well done thou good and faithful servant.” He will always be remembered for his sense of humor and “good” jokes.

He is survived by his wife Carol A. Baughman Neville, whom he married June 29, 1963. They have three sons: Stephen (Cheryl) Neville, Philip (Jill) Neville and Timothy Neville; and are blessed with their grandchildren: Morgan Anne (Micah), Caleb (Alexis), Adelina, Aislynn, Mei Mei, Evan and Jadyn; great grandchildren: Ariah, Amari and Karina; and numerous other family members.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother David P. Neville.

The family would like to thank Genesis Hospice for their loving care, both at home and at the Morrison House; especially caregivers Selene and Becky, who became faithful friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Genesis Hospice, Morrison House, 713 Forest Avenue, Zanesville, Ohio 43701; for the construction of the new hospice facility.

Calling hours will be held from 12 to 2PM, Friday, April 25, 2025, at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD, ZANESVILLE. The funeral service will begin at 2PM with his son, Stephen Neville officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
