Sherry Keener

Sherry Jean Keener, 75 of Zanesville died 6:25 PM Friday, April 18, 2025 at the Primrose Retirement Community under hospice care.
She was born February 6, 1950 in Zanesville, Ohio the daughter of the late Edwin Cyrus and Evajean Ricer Cyrus Higginbotham.
Sherry graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelors of Nursing. She worked as a traveling nurse for many years and later for the Veterans Administration. With the Veterans Administration she helped develop & teach a phone consulting program for employees who spoke with clients about their conditions, helping to set appointments & diagnose health issues. She also enjoyed painting porcelain objects such as vases and plates.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Robert “Bob” James Keener, whom she married November 28th, 1969; 2 sons, Ty (Kim) Keener and Chad (Mary) Keener; grandchildren, Brehanna, Cameron, Dylan, and Grayson; Two sisters, Mary (Larry) Daniels, and Theresa Lawrence; and longtime friend John Parmater.
Family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM Thursday May 1st at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home.
