Meet Odie!: This Week’s Dog of the Week

ZANESVILLE, OH – This week’s Dog of the Week is a gentle giant.

Meet Odie! He’s two-years-old, neutered, does well with other dogs, and is eagerly looking for someone to adopt him.

Doug McQuaid, a Volunteer at the K-9 Adoption Center, said Odie came to them as a stray in September and they later learned that his previous owner knew Odie was at the Adoption Center but never came back for him.

He said Odie is dog friendly, people friendly, and loves to play with all of the toys in the play yard.

“[He] loves everybody he comes into contact with,” McQuaid said. “Has a little bit of high energy, very sweet, knows how to sit, stay, shake, fetch, I mean he’s just got so much going on for him. He would just be a dog for any family, gentle, easy to walk, kids of all sizes could walk and play with him and I’m sure he’d just like to sit beside you.”

McQuaid also said if you’ve been looking for some more information on the Adoption Center or interested in becoming a foster, they have just the event for you.

This Saturday, April 26th, from 11AM to 1PM they will be at the Muskingum County Family YMCA for their Healthy Kids Day event.

“We’ll also have our Deputy Dog Warden on hand to answer all the kids’ questions,” McQuaid said. “The kids have so many questions about his daily job of keeping all dogs safe and he loves responding to them as well.”
