ZCS to Honor 2025 Hall of Fame Class
Zanesville, OH- If you’ve walked the halls of Zanesville High School, you’ve probably seen the faces of greatness.
This weekend, a few more familiar names are getting their place on the wall, as Zanesville celebrates it’s Hall of Fame Class of 2025 with a special induction ceremony. This year’s honorees include Lt. Col. Angela Bailey, a retired military leader and local business owner, Susan Straker Holdren, a retired educator and executive director of the JW and MH Straker Charitable Foundation.
“I think we have so many people in so many areas in life that are successful and they’ve been great Blue Devils and we want to honor them and remember them as they go out into the world and do great things,” explained ZCS Superintendent and Hall of Fame Committee Member Laura Tompkins.
Also joining the hall is athlete and cardiac nurse Maddie McGarvey from the Class of 2006, Chris Penny a retired military veterans turned NYC Financial Advisor and the late Dr. Craig Shannon, a neurosurgeon who graduated in 1997. The 1995 Boy’s Basketball team will also be recognized for their 26-0 season and state title win. The ceremony takes place Saturday, May 3.
“Each inductee will get a five minute time to talk about their experiences either at Zanesville High School or what they are doing out in the world,” Tompkins.
Since the Hall of Fame’s Class in 2008, 119 individuals and two teams have been inducted.
