Feeding the less Fortunate

One local organization took time to serve hundreds of Zanesville residents Thanksgiving meals today.

Christ’s Table hosted its annual Thanksgiving dinner from 10:30 to 12:30. Executive Director Keely Warden told us working on Thanksgiving is a blessing.

“You know people say, ‘oh you have to work on Thanksgiving? It’s truly not work for us. We’re all blessed. We get to have two Thanksgivings with our family. We start out the day here at the table with our family, and our friends being volunteers, and those we serve too. Then we all get to go home and be blessed again with our real family. So we don’t look at it as work, we look at it as a blessing from the Lord,” said Warden.

Christ’s Table has been preparing for this dinner for the past 3 weeks. Warden told us, volunteers range from the age of six to ninety-six. In fact, some have been involved since they were toddlers; and they are still here today, helping to serve other families of the community.

“It’s thanksgiving! Where else would you be on thanksgiving day to get a hot turkey, dressing and all the good stuff for Thanksgiving? Where else would you be but, with your friends and family at Christ’s Table?” said Warden.
