South Zanesville, Ohio- A local organization is in desperate need of your unwanted winter items.

Although the racks are full, they are full with spring and summer items.

“This time of the year we usually have some things. Right now our donations are extremely low. We are in need of winter clothing such as sweaters, coats, anything that’s long sleeve, even boots and shoes,” Goodwill store manager, Connie Kimble said.

Donations are important not only to keep members of the community warm, but it also helps keep people employed. Goodwill tends to hire people other companies tend to over look.

“The donations help individuals with barriers employed. Goodwill is about always about a hand up not a hand down,” Kimble said.

With the seasons going colder it is imperative now more than ever to get a head start on staying warm.

“We accept donations every single day that we’re open. We’re open everyday expect for major holidays. Any donation is really needed. We’re pretty low on everything,” Kimble said.

To donate simply drop off your items at any of the three goodwill locations in town.
