The Muskingum Recreation Center has some tips to help you shed the Thanksgiving Dinner pounds. Head lifeguard, Mackenize Brune said cardio exercises will help shed unwanted weight.
“Plan ahead. What are you going to be doing that week? Are you going to be doing some shopping? Are you going to see family? So have a weekly plan. Say, 5′ o clock on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, I’m going to get up and work out. So just planing ahead is super important it’s a little easier to commit. You commit to your job every morning, so commit to your workout every morning as well” said Mackenize.
The Recreation center offers a variety of services from a heated pool to an indoor track. Brune said the rec center will be hosting a special a fitness challenge for after the holidays.
“We’ll have separate groups. We have weekly weight ins. We will calculate how many pounds they’ve lost. Those people will be in the running to win $1000. Every week we will have different nutrition facts, healthy recipes for them. We will also have different workouts they can follow. And they will also have a personal trainer for their fitness group, of our choice. They get a really good start to that healthy living oppose to that diet they only do for 30 days or so. They are learning to live better and healthier lifestyles” said Mackenize.
