Community Sends Off the Blue Devils for Four Final Game

The Blue Devils take on Archbishop Hoban in the Division III Football State Semifinal and many may call it the quiet before the storm.

Zanesville High School has made it to the Final Four for the second time in the last three years. Today the entire community is rallying together to send their boys off with a bang.

“We’re out here to celebrate the boys, making it to the final four. I’m so emotional. I am so excited. Oh, they’ve overcome so much. from a 5-5 season last year to a 9-1 season this year and they have taken it this far. They show a lot of heart and a lot of teamwork. They all just show a single spirit,” said Deborah Stanberry.

These boys have had a tough time in the past but, they have made it this far. And shown and proved they are ready for tonight’s game. Stansberry explains the electricity in the air.. as the players took off for Massilon.

“I had Derek and Bailey at the house earlier and it was electricity. It was a lot of hooting and hollering and they were cheering like, we got this, we’re ready to go. They were singing the songs they work out to. At practice it was the calm before the storm everybody was real focus everybody is real dedicated to the team to playing a good game and its a matter if they will take that energy to the field and we’ll see it tonight.”

The boys left Zanesville High School at 3:30 p.m and kick-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
