Workers Injured at Ohio Power Park in Morgan County
The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a construction accident that injured two workers.
According to a press release, just before 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, the Sheriff’s Office received a request  for assistance at  the Ohio Power Park on State Route 60 in Morgan County.
The caller advised that while working to dismantle an old conveyer belt crossing the river, the housing for the belt line fell and injured two  workers.
Authorities say the workers were taken to a Marietta Hospital for treatment.
Emergency medical services from Malta, McConnelsville, Beverly, and Lowell responded to the scene along with fire departments from Malta, McConnelsville and Beverly. Deputies from Morgan County and Washington County Sheriff’s Offices were also called to the scene.
The Construction Company is conducting an investigation and are waiting for assistance from OSHA.
