Cameron To Replace Sands as Commissioner

The Muskingum County Republican Party has made its decision on who is replacing former County Commissioner Todd Sands. Party Chairman Pat Hennessey says after a vote by the Central Committee Wednesday evening it was determined that the appointee will be Cindy Cameron. She beat three other people who were also interested in the position. Hennessey says Cameron will also be running for the seat in November of 2016. In October Sands resigned due to health reasons with one year left on his term. The Republican Central Committee also announced that it has endorsed Mollie Crooks for County Commissioner. She will be running against Commissioner Jerry Lavy, a democrat, next November.
