OUZ Invites Students to HEAT Camp
ZANESVILLE, OH – Ohio University Zanesville is gearing up for a day full of fun and learning opportunities.
OUZ’s annual HEAT Camp is coming up on June 4th from 8AM to 5PM.
Heather Sands, the Manager of Campus Communications and External Relations with OUZ, said this camp is for incoming 7th-9th graders interested in entering a healthcare field.
“A lot of people think, it’s just about nursing, not just about nursing anymore,” Sands said. “It is all about the healthcare careers that they can get, everything from IT, to nursing, to anything related to the healthcare field.”
25 students will have the opportunity to get hands-on experiences with OUZ’s state of the art nursing labs, be able to work with nursing faculty and professionals from Genesis Healthcare, and engage in different demonstrations.
Lunch provided as well as some prizes for students to take home.
“Students and families should sign up as soon as possible, it fills up very quickly, it’s 25 student spots available, but definitely still register,” Sands explained. “That way if there’s a cancellation, the registration just opened so there are plenty of spots right now, but definitely turn it in and turn in your paperwork so that way you can save your spot for this camp.”
To register for HEAT camp you can head to OUZ’s website.
