Muskingum County Head Start Hosts Annual Feast
ZANESVILLE, Ohio-Â Preschoolers ranging in ages from 3 to 5 and their parents share a meal together.
Each year the Muskingum County Head Start program invited all the families of Head Start to enjoy the day. After the meal. The parents and children walked to different rooms. Each room featured something different. There was a dancing room, reading room, and an art room. Parent Family Community Engagement Manger, Carolyn Dukes stressed the importance of programs like this.
“It’s just a joy to see the families connect with their children together”, said Carolyn Dukes. “That engagement, its what we try to do is get that engagement through head start. We go to the home every month to get that engagement. It’s very important to spend family time together, spend time with your children together to teach them to advocate for their children”.
Dukes says head start is need of volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering with head start contact them at (740) 454-6251.
