Profits From Festival of Trees Auction Will Go to the Community

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- The 23rd annual Festival of Trees auction concluded with big bids, and even bigger profits.

Chamber President, Tom Poorman said the auction generated more than $50,000. He said he was pleasantly surprised with the outcome.

“Great out come, we didn’t even expect to meet that sort of goal” said Poorman. “The fact that we did is a bonus. We’re very grateful. Thrilled with the results. Thrilled with the amount of support we get from the community. It’s really quite remarkable how generous this community is.”

Poorman said the profits made from the auction will go right back into the community.

“This is money that we use to operate the chamber, so we put it right back into the community all year long” said Poorman. “It helps balance our budget, it’s used to implement small business development programs, business retention programs, the marketing that we do to promote the community all of this money goes toward that.”

Poorman said now the gears are shifted towards making a Story Book Christmas as successful as Festival of Trees.
