Charges Filed in Downtown Zanesville Break-Ins

Zanesville,OH- Zanesville Police said a suspect who broke into several businesses and churches in the downtown has formally been charged.
34-year-old Kenneth Linscott faces one charge of burglary, seven counts of breaking and entering and seven counts of criminal damaging. The case will be presented to a Muskingum County Grand Jury at a later date. Linscott is presently incarcerated in the Zanesville City Jail.
Zanesville Police said in the early morning of May 7, Linscott broke into the Art Gallery and Zanesville Tool Grinder Machine Shop on Main Street, St. Thomas Aquinas on 5th Street, St. John’s Lutheran Church on 7th Street and Market Street Baptist on 6th Street.
A witness encountered the suspect inside St. Thomas, prompting the individual to flee. Officers and detectives recovered several key pieces of evidence and obtained surveillance video from several locations in the downtown area to assist with the identification of the suspect.
On May 8, officers located Linscott who matched the suspect’s description.
