Muskingum County Swears in New Commissioner
ZANESVILLE, Ohio-Â Muskingum County’s newest commissioner was officially sworn in Friday.
Cindy Cameron placed her right hand on the bible in front of family, friends and colleagues and took the oath of office. Cameron said she appreciates the Muskingum County Republican Party for appointing her and she anxious to start on Monday.
“I’ll like to get in there and get my feet wet first” said Cameron, “We have talked about maybe start having the different elected officials start coming back to the meetings. Just so they know what’s going on. We talked about education. I think for new jobs to come, one of the things most families look for is schools. We would like to get them any help that we could. Raise their score so they can be attractive for families to come. We still want to keep the jobs that are already here, maintain them and have them stay. We want to keep them also.”
Cameron replaces Todd Sands who resigned in October due to medical reasons. Cameron will run for the seat in November of next year.
