Interskate Park Will Remain Open

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- It’s good news for skateboarders in Zanesville Monday.

Mayor Jeff Tilton, who Monday ordered the park just off Linden Avenue closed, has changed his mind he said at first he thought the skate park was a liability to the city, but after getting some legal consultation he found out that it’s not.

Local skater Matthew Mitchell was upset at the thought of this park closing for good.

“Everything to get it up and running,” said Matthew Mitchell. “It just destroys my heart to see it go away over neglect.”

Social media played a role in Monday’s developments too. After word spread that the park would close the backlash was impressive.
Early Monday the city did some prep work to close down the park. Now it will go back to normal.
