Civil Service Exam Could be Offered Again in Spring 2016
The Zanesville Public Safety Director is calling for area men and women to consider law enforcement as a career.
Fred Buck said while a Civil Service test isn’t been currently offered, their eligibility list is decreasing leaving local departments in need of new interested parties.
“It’s a noble career in my opinion and I don’t why we can’t get more people to sign up but we definitely encourage them,” said Buck.
The entire hiring process goes through Civil Service which isn’t posting job openings yet but if you’re simply interested in learning more about the field, Buck said you can talk to current officers to see if the career is for you.
“It’s a great job,” said Buck. “It’s a great career. I think any young officer will tell you that and any older officer will tell you that. It’s a little tougher now. ”
You can also look at the Public Safety Information Book online on the City of Zanesville’s website for information about preparing for the test. Buck said if the departments exhaust the eligibility list the next exam could be offered as early as spring of 2016.
