Zanesville City Students Party with Santa

With just over a week until the big guy delivers gifts all over the world, he stopped by Adornetto’s to give 83 children their presents a little early.

The annual Rotary ‘Christmas Party for Kids’ was filled with live music, pizza, and presents, of course. Santa stopped by to deliver gifts and snap some photos with a group of very lucky children Tuesday. Rotary President Stacy Clapper said the atmosphere in the room was full of Christmas spirit.

“I think the noise probably as to how excited they are,” said Clapper. “Santa talks with each child and delivers those gifts that they have requested and takes a picture with them and they’re really tickled to be able to take that souvenir home with them from the party.”

Clapper said each child is able to create their own Christmas list and Rotary members shopped to be sure each child gets exactly what they wish for.

“Blankets, we’ve had kids ask for gloves and hats,” said Clapper. “We also have a request for toys. So we do that. We shop at K-Mart for all of those items and we have different cheerleading groups and so forth volunteer to wrap all of our presents.”

Clapper said none of it would be possible without the fundraising throughout the year and she’d like to thank anyone who participates.
