Zanesville High School Robotics Team Wants To Keep The Winning Streak Going
ZANESVILLE, Ohio-Â A group of local high school students in a robotics team are looking to build off of their school’s past success.
Zanesville High School has been a strong contender in previous years but will be going into this year’s robotics competitions with a younger team but the same high expectations.
“Having such a young team will help,” said Logan Dinan. “When we were freshmen we were good, and this year we will get better. By the time we would be seniors, if we just kept stepping it up, we could be so good that when we go to the world competition, we could almost be in the top teams or even win it.”
The Robotics Team does have some returning members from last year and hopes that their experience and knowledge will help the team be able to continue to win competitions.
“Competing in competitions is a lot of fun, really,” said Rory Gamble, “There’s so much work that goes into every single social aspect of how you talk to different people and go throughout each match. It’s really interesting the way they have everything set up at all these different places around the state, around the country, and around the world.”
On average the students spend around 12 hours a week outside of school designing and preparing their robot for future competitions. The robotics team is looking forward to their next competition which is scheduled for February.
