Meet Daisy! This Week’s Dog of the Week
ZANESVILLE, OH – This week’s Dog of the Week is a love bug.
Meet Daisy! She’s a 2-year-old terrier mix who’s dog friendly, does well with kids, and keeps a clean kennel.
Doug McQuaid, a volunteer at the K-9 Adoption Center, said Daisy’s story is a sad one, she was abandoned and brought into the center back in March.
He said despite her being abandoned, Daisy’s wonderful personality has shone through to everyone she meets.
“Loves to give kisses, so you’ve got to be mindful of that,” McQuaid said. “Another great thing, you can have so much fun with her, we found out she loves for you to throw the ball and she’ll go get it and bring it right back to you. So she’d be a great catch for you know, the kids who want to go outside and play with her and just be a great family dog.”
McQuaid also wants to urge pet owners to use caution as we head into severe weather season. He said if you use outdoor dog houses to make sure there isn’t excess water pooling in the house.
McQuaid also recommends making a safe space in your home for your pet to go when lightning and thunder strike.
He also talked about the volunteers at the Adoption Center and the important role they play.
“We’re always looking for volunteers, volunteers mean so much for so many different things,” McQuaid said. “Anything from just doing odds and ends in the building to walking dogs, everything actually goes back to where it all has to do with helping the dogs out.”
The Adoption Center also has t-shirts available for $5. They are available in all colors and in sizes from small to extra large.
