Christ’s Table Stays Open for Christmas Dinner

One local organization is making sure that everyone receives a hot meal for Christmas.

As folks begin their Christmas celebrations, Christ’s Table, along with nearly 50 volunteers from the community, are preparing to serve the needy a very delicious Christmas Eve and Christmas Day meal. Director Keely Warden said the experience starts right when you walk through the door.

“It’s an awesome experience. It’s hard to fathom what it would be like to be alone or not have Christmas dinner at your house. It’s hard to fathom what that would be. So when people walk in and they are able to get a hug or able to get a smile or able to get a meal just like Mom would cook for you, it’s amazing how it transforms people from the moment they walk in the door to the moment they leave,” said Warden.

Warden said they have more than enough volunteers to help toward Christmas dinner, but they are always open to receive the extra goodies.

“If you like to just drop off a plate of your homemade Christmas cookies or your candy, something that you share with your family. We like to have those homemade things here to share with the people that we serve here in our dining room. We try to make it as much as we can a Christmas day just like you have at home,” said Warden.

Dinner will will be served at their regular times from 10:30 a.m until 12:30 p.m.
