Monthly Meeting Held to Review County Budget

The Muskingum County Commissioners met with County Treasurer Chris Hamill to discuss a plan to earn more money for the county.

After reviewing the budget, Hamill introduced a plan to place $2 million from the County General Fund in a bond at Century National Bank in order to gain what is hoped to be up to two percent interest.

“That’s a higher amount of interest and it’ll be good for the county because we’ll make additional funding off of that,” said Hamill. “It’s just there in case the county would need anything, something would come up that we would need to purchase something. The higher we go with our investments the better off we’ll be.”

The commissioners will meet with Hamill to discuss the progress on the project in January of 2016.
