Barbara “Barbie” Schumacher

Barbara “Barbie” J. Schumacher, 84 of Zanesville died at 12:02 AM May 20, 2025, at the Oaks at Bethesda.

She was born on July 3, 1940, in Zanesville, Ohio, the daughter of George Graspas and Betty J. Garrett-Graspas.

Barbie was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and was employed by Goodwill Industries for 8 years where she had been trained to teach the blind independent traveling and skills of daily living. She was employed with Six County as an assistant to administration working with clients. Barbie also enjoyed reading and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandsons.

She is survived by her son, Craig S. Schumacher and a daughter, Crystal (David) Mell; three grandchildren, Mark A. (Sarah) Perone Jr., Derek M. Perone and Tyler Ryan Mell; two great grandsons, Lincoln Perone & Logan Perone and numerous cousins.

Barbie was preceded in death by her parents and several aunts & uncles.

Family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM Friday, May23rd with closing prayers at 6:00 PM at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions can be made to the National Shrine of St. Jude or to the American Cancer Society.
