Zanesville’s Buchanan, Licking Valley’s Busic Honored with Miller Scholarship

ZANESVILLE, OH

The Licking County League has announced the male and female recipients of the 2025 “Kelly C. Miller” Athletic Academy Scholarship.

The male recipient, Samuel Busic, comes from Licking Valley High School. The senior ran cross country and track, and is graduating with a 4.52 weighted grade point average. He will be attending either Ohio State or Colby College to major in earth sciences, per a release from the LCL.

The female recipient goes by Chloe Buchanan, of Zanesville High School. She is a four-year varsity tennis player, who finishes her Zanesville tenure with a 4.0 grade point average. She will be attending the University of Cincinnati, with the intention of majoring in marketing and finance.

The scholarship is named in memory of past commissioner Kelly C. Miller, who was also a longtime referee in multiple sports, and an adult probation department supervisor of Licking County COmmon Pleas Court, before passing away in 2018, per a release from the LCL.
