Rambo Memorial Health to Host Free Asthma Camp for Kids with Fun and Learning

ZANESVILLE, OH – Rambo Memorial Health is helping kids breathe a little easier this summer with a two-day camp that mixes fun and learning.

Camp Wheeze Away is back for another year. The free camp is open to children ages 7 to 12 who have asthma, and they’re allowed to bring a friend. The first day will be held at Wolfie’s Campground with fun outdoor activities like gem mining. On day two, the group heads to Rambo Memorial Health for more fun.

“We’re going to have the fire department here, which is always a big hit for the kids. They get to spray the hoses and learn all about the fire truck. The Coca-Cola semi will also be here. The kids always love that. They can get up in the semi and honk the horn. We’ll have a therapy dog here, and then in the afternoon they get to go bowling,” Rambo Executive Director Shannon Bell said.

The camp runs June 24th and 25th from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and gives children the opportunity to learn more about asthma and how to manage it, while having fun.

“Of course, Wheezer, everybody’s favorite mascot, is going to be at camp with us both days. Wheezer loves to help the kids and help educate them about their asthma,” Bell said.

To sign up your child, you can call Rambo Memorial Health at (740) 452-5401, visit their website, or stop by their office to grab a registration packet.
