Suspect in Mifflin Twp. Officer Shooting Captured

Obetz, OH – The suspect involved in the shooting of two Mifflin Township police officers is now in custody.
According to a press release, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office along with partnering agencies were executing a search warrant at 4318 Thelma Drive in Obetz when gunfire was heard from inside the apartment.
The sheriff’s offices SWAT team made entry into the residence and located Daveonte Dixon, suffering from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Dixon was immediately transported to a local hospital, where he remains in critical condition. He is currently charged with one count of attempted murder and two counts of felonious assault.
Authorities believe Dixon shot two Mifflin Township Police Officers after fleeing from a traffic stop.
One officer has been released from the hospital. The second officer remains hospitalized.
