MVHC And Nationwide Children’s
ZANESVILLE, Ohio – A local medical provider is teaming up with a nationally renowned pediatric healthcare system.
Muskingum Valley Health Centers CEO Dan Atkinson announced a new collaboration with Nationwide Children’s Hospital and how area families will benefit.
“Over the last several years we’ve been in talks with Nationwide Children’s Hospital on how we can collaborate closely to help continue to expand access to the great pediatric care we already have in our region. And so for many years we have discussed a model in which we would be able to tap into the resources that they have in Columbus and the surrounding counties that would really help bring even a higher level of pediatric care to our community,” Atkinson said.
The collaboration allows MVHC to draw from a larger abundance of resources, which includes access to specialized personnel, state of the art equipment and the latest advancements in medical procedures.
“It’s a collaboration where all of our pediatric providers will be employed by Nationwide Children’s Hospital,” Atkinson said. “The services will continue to be provided as MVHC services. So it will be Nationwide Children’s Physician and Providers providing services within MVHC locations. So patients will continue to receive care as they always have with MVHC. It will be a seamless transition from a patient standpoint. The billing will continue to come from MVHC. So really the patient won’t see any immediate impact or change from the standpoint of just normal operations, it’s the ability to continue to build on the great services we already have.”
Nationwide Children’s Hospital is recognized as one of the nations Top-Ten children’s hospitals and has placed it’s trust in MVHC after observing their continued growth and service to their community.
